Athlon In-Focus: Elijah Olmstead
Documentary // Outdoor
Overview
Athlon In-Focus sits down with Elijah Olmstead to tell the story of Sioux, the guide horse that has carried him through the country he hunts. Elijah traces it back to how the horse came into his life, the situations the two of them have been through since, and the bond that came out of all of it.
Creative approach
No narration, no script. Elijah tells it in his own words and the camera stays on him, with Sioux in the frame as the second lead rather than a piece of gear. Quiet, patient coverage on location, so the story is carried by his account of the horse instead of by polish.
